goodbye lute
I don't have the energy to actually write a whole blog about Lute Olson's retirement, however I also couldn't not comment on such a monumental event for a lifetime diehard U of A fan. Let's just say that 2008 sucks. There's no reason why I would expect it to be any different at this point.

Is Lute short for Wellington?
I started my preaching message yesterday with the memory of you and I going to the "meet the cats" basketball outing in 1985. You got a basketball shirt that went down to you ankles and went around getting autographs from the players. At the end when most everyone was gone, we spotted Lute and you went over to him to get an autograph. He interupted a conversation he was having with what looked like a rich booster, picked you up unto his knee, and spent a couple of minutes asking you questions and listening to your 5 year old responses (I'm sure noting the basketball wisdom received from your father).
The memories are sweet, and the future bleak.
Interesting that you look at years as categories - not because it's bad or strange. Let's look at today :)

You and Scott can lament over Thanksgiving...it's not pretty over here and frankly, I'm sick of listening to it!!
